MantisGPT Legacy

MantisGPT is the old name for the panel that now ships as the Composer. There is no separate MantisGPT product, panel, or model. If you came here looking for the Mantis chat assistant, you want Composer.

Heads up

This page exists only so the old name resolves to something true. Everything MantisGPT used to describe is documented on the Composer page.

What changed

The panel is still registered internally under the key mantisgpt, but that key resolves to a panel named Composer, and the View menu, the panel tab, and the default layout all say Composer. The component behind it was rewritten: the Composer opens its own WebSocket to the backend, calls MCP tools rather than emitting legacy command strings, and adds attachments, memories, custom agents, and artifacts.

The old name survives in a few places that were never renamed:

• The agent and workflow nodes in the Jarvis Workflow Builder are described as “A MantisGPT agent that can perform tasks” and “A MantisGPT workflow that orchestrates agents”.
• The internal benchmark screens talk about “MantisGPT Custom Chat” workflows.

Read those as “Composer”.

Modes

Earlier versions of this page listed four conversation modes named Analysis, Research, Assistant, and Creative. Those never existed in the product. The Composer’s mode dropdown is served by the backend and offers exactly three choices: orchestrator, ask, and visual tour. See Composer for what each one changes.
