Delete Bags

Delete removes all bags, not the one you have selected. It is labeled Delete in the tool island and Delete Bags in the Map (Legacy) palette, and both take effect the instant you click.

Important

There is no confirmation dialog. Clicking Delete, or pressing

Ctrl+⇧+⌫, wipes every bag on the map at once,

including the read-only bags that search, tree and layer selections create. Unlike deleting a single bag, this action is not written to the undo history, so do not count on undo to bring the bags back.

Where to find it

Delete is the red button below the divider in the tool island, next to Clear. On Map (Legacy) it is Delete Bags in the tool palette. The shortcut is Ctrl+⇧+⌫, using Control on every platform, including macOS.

Scope

• The tool island Delete button and the shortcut clear the current selection and delete every bag on the map they belong to.
• The Map (Legacy) Delete Bags entry goes further: it iterates every open map and deletes that map’s bags too.

Deleting one bag instead

Use the Bags panel. Each bag row has its own delete control, which removes only that bag and is recorded in the undo history. There is no per-bag delete anywhere on the tool island.
