Clear Bags
Clear resets what is currently selected: the selected points, the selected clusters, which bags are highlighted, and the context points feeding the Composer. Your bags and everything in them are left exactly as they were. The button is labeled Clear in the tool island and Clear Bags in the Map (Legacy) palette.
- Shortcut
- Ctrl+Backspace
- Available on
- Map, Map (Legacy)
Where to find it
Clear sits below the divider in the tool island, next to Delete. On Map (Legacy) it is the Clear Bags entry in the tool palette.
Ctrl+⌫ does the same thing from anywhere outside atext field. The shortcut uses Control on every platform, including macOS.
Two scopes
The scope depends on which control you use:
- The tool island Clear button and Ctrl+⌫ clear selection and context on every open map.
- The Map (Legacy) Clear Bags palette entry clears the point selection on that map only.
What it does not do
- It does not delete bags. Bags keep their names, colors and contents.
- It does not empty an individual bag. Emptying one bag is not exposed anywhere in the UI today; remove points from the Bags panel instead, or delete the bag and rebuild it.
- The name is a holdover. Nothing about the tool is bag-specific except that it deselects bags.
